Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE) – The Summerfest event in Albuquerque began on Saturday. From food trucks to local performers and vendors at North Domino Baka Park, there was no shortage of local favorites.
Many Albuquerque residents were ready to celebrate this year as last year’s event had to be canceled due to COVID-19. Many were excited to feel that they were part of the community again. “An event like this instills a sense of community and we are all together. I think we are all very separated by COVID and we really know that we are together at the event. I think you want it, “said attendee David Sanders.
Family-friendly events are generally free and feature a craft beer garden with a choice of eight different local breweries. Bands like Reviva and Black Pearl Band NM played on two stages. “It’s good to see the whole family again. I think it’s really important. People need to be with each other I think the blockade did a lot of harm, and I think we’re back again I hope you don’t have to do that, “said another attendee.

There were many activities for children by the park and recreation departments, and many of the event attendees enjoyed picnics in the park. “My kids are thrilled to explore jumpers, paint faces and get all the good stuff, and because we have a vendor there. Maybe I’ll try new food, “said Marissa Tafoya of Albuquerque.
This is the first of three consecutive Saturday events. Next week’s event will be held at Nobu Hill. For a complete list of events and activities Visit the city website You can know in detail.
