Some youth programs have become available to the general public, and representatives of Mercy Housing said they have contacted the Lake Oswego School District to begin coordinating these efforts.

The development footprint is expected to be similar to the old dorm building to be replaced, and other buildings and open spaces will not be affected.

“We believe this residential community is part of the campus,” said Brian Carleton, Principal of Carleton Hart Architecture. “We spent a lot of time observing and really absorbed the life of the campus.”

Sister Maureen Delaney of the Sisters of the Holy Names added that although some of the existing structures have been leased to nonprofits for certain activities, there are no plans for other new buildings on campus.

In the future, a land use application for this property will be submitted to Lake Oswego within the next few months. Construction will begin in the summer of 2022 and development is expected to begin in the fall of 2023.
