Clovis, CA (KFSN)-The air in the Central Valley continues to be filled with smoke from several wildfires around it.

Health professionals advise residents to be careful outdoors and stay indoors as much as possible.

“It’s similar to what firefighters receive, which is why they wear special N-95s and special masks to protect them,” said an allergy and immunology expert. Dr. Praveen Buddiga said.

Poor air quality did not stop people from meeting at the Clovis Fest in the Old Town of Clovis.

“It only limits you, but you still have to exercise, and especially at this time of the year,” Abel Arenas said. He and his family rode their bikes to attend the event.

He said he was using the inhaler at least three times a day with smoke in the air.

Dr. Budiga said it was a good idea for people with asthma.

He also advised people to keep air purifiers in their homes.

“It actually captures all the dust, soot, and core components that reduce air quality in the air,” said Dr. Buddiga.
