Akron, Ohio (WJW) – Akron Police Station A teenager arrested for robbery on Monday night was the suspect he was looking for in a recent clerk shooting, according to Tuesday’s report.
Police say police officers responded to reports of robbery at S. Main St’s Family Dollar on Monday night.
The clerk said the suspect pointed to the rifle and demanded money from the cash register.
When the police arrived, the suspect was gone.
Police officers found a man who matched the description walking in the area.
Police say the suspect threw a bag and started running while the police were approaching.
According to a press release, police were able to catch up with him in a few minutes.
Police say he had a .22 caliber short rifle.
According to police, the 17-year-old boy was admitted to a Family Dollar robbery and other robbers in the Firestone Park area, including a robbery on Astor Avenue. The clerk was shot..
The shooting took place on November 20th.
The clerk was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury.
Teens were booked at the Summit County Juvenile Training School.
Police are looking for other suspects in robbery.
