Akron, Ohio (WJW) — Police are investigating after shooting Akron One died, two were injured and one was seriously injured this morning.
At around 1:30 am, Akron police say that during the patrol, someone was flagged as waving a gun in the areas of Kling Street and Wheeler Street. According to a press release, when the police arrived there, they found three victims.
According to police, an 18-year-old woman was apparently found in a gunshot wound and sentenced to death at the scene.
A 25-year-old man was taken to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital in crisis. According to officials, the third victim, a 22-year-old man, has been taken to the nearby Summa Health Akron City Hospital and is in stable condition.
The Summit County Medical Inspector’s Office will carry out the death examination and the victim’s name will be withheld until confirmation of identity and notification to the family.
Police say pistols and other evidence were near the scene.
As a result of the investigation, police believed that there was a large rally in which an unknown suspect began shooting and people were reportedly fighting in the streets when the victims were beaten.
Police are still trying to identify the suspect.
No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing.
