KOIN, Oregon — Michael Thomson, director of Greater Albany Public School, worked hard to save Wednesday night. Work of director Melissa Goff After voting on July 14, she fired her for no reason.

Thomson has moved to remove the item (Goff’s contract) from tonight’s agenda. However, although I was grateful to the attendees, I failed.

Albany Board of Directors Voted 3-1 to fire Goff last week. He is wondering about the move, but is grateful for the support she received.

“Honestly, part of the beauty and curse of the unreasonable clause of the contract is why it because the board doesn’t have to tell me or anyone else why it decided to activate that section. I can’t tell you what happened, “Goff told KOIN6 News.

The members of the board of directors on July 14 were not happy with the decision. One parent who spoke with KOIN 6 News believes that three new directors have decided to dismiss her based on their personal political beliefs.

“This is a national problem and there was a move for more conservative people to take over the school board,” the parents said.

At last week’s meeting, a majority of the board decided that the district would buy her contract. Thomson said it was financially irresponsible.

“I estimate this action will cost more than $ 200,000 to pay a year’s salary and allowance, but it will cost the northern district,” Thomson said. “The total cost will be much higher.”

Students showed their love and support for Goff with posters and chalk messages. KOIN 6 News learned that the principals of all elementary schools in the district sent an email to the board to thank Goff.

KOIN 6 News called all board members, but could only contact the chair. The Chair introduced all the answers to their leading lawyers on this matter.

Another board meeting is scheduled for Friday at 5 pm and it is unclear what action will be taken.

Goff is doing all this at once.

She said the overflow of support was “great. It was incredibly touching just to share my gratitude. Before leaving a place, people made me a very important and touching way. I feel like I have the privilege of letting me know how much I’m evaluating. “
