Alder Creek Fire sparks in Scappoose area – Portland, Oregon

Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — A wildfire broke out in the Scappoose area on mid-Saturday afternoon, resulting in coordinated response from multiple jurisdictions and the Oregon Forest Office.

According to the Scapuse Fire Department, the Aldark Leak fire consumed about 30 acres on Saturday at 7:00 pm, about four hours after it broke out within ODF jurisdiction in the woodlands near Bunker Hill. The house is not threatened.

Crew members from Scappoose, Vernonia, and Columbia River Fire & Rescue have responded to this scene with ODF. One helicopter arrived from Washington DNR Water drops started and another from Redmond was on the way at 7pm

The fire is 15% contained. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
