Allegheny County hosts inaugural ‘Pedal with Police’ event – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Allegheny County and the Police Together Group hosted the first “Pedal with Police” event on Saturday. Several municipal and community officers and their families in the county were invited to ride a bicycle. The ride started at Milbert and went to law enforcement. Return to the North Shore monument and Milbert. The event started at 9am and ended at noon. The organizers say the vehicle is aimed at building a community. The Pittsburgh Pirates joined the group on the North Shore Riverwalk and handed out new baseball cards with the theme of Pittsburgh Public Security.

The Allegheny County and Police Together groups hosted the first “Pedal with Police” event on Saturday.

Officers and their families from multiple municipalities throughout the county and community were invited to ride bicycles.

The ride began in Milbert, went to the Law Enforcement Memorial on the North Shore, and then returned to Milbert. The event started at 9am and ended at noon.

Organizers say the vehicle is aimed at building a community.

“Many police interactions with the community are usually traumatic times in people’s lives,” said Pennsylvania State Police Officer Melinda Bondarenka. “We want to be proactive and join the community, not just because we were called there.”
