Las Vegas (KLAS) — Allegiant Stadium filled the house with more than 61,000 fans in the Conca Cuff Gold Cup final on Sunday, but traffic and parking conditions still seemed to be a night issue.
Many are worried that it will only get worse when the Raiders football team goes out on the field and resumes play for their fans.
Jess Magdeflau and Remko Linkema attended the match on Sunday night and said the dysfunction was too great. “About four Ubers have canceled, I think it’s because they found our whereabouts. They didn’t want to deal with that traffic,” said Magdefrau.
Entering the venue has never been an easy process, from not having enough staff to handle the traffic flow to lining up cars and ignoring detour signs.
Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft says there is room for improvement, but like any new venue, it will take some time.
“This is a brand new stadium,” Naft said. “We need to upgrade both law enforcement staff and county staff who support traffic control. Most prominent are stadium staff whose job is to guide people. They are all I am continuously trained. “
Scott Parker, who wasn’t in the game, said at a Garth Brooks concert a few weeks ago, the turmoil he experienced at the concert was enough to hesitate to return to the stadium.
“I was a little worried about how expensive the parking fee was, which made me think twice about going,” he said. “We have a logistical problem with trying to be unloaded and picked up in the zone they have designated for us, so yes, it discourages me,” Parker now 8 Said to one news.
For the Raiders match this fall, Naft said the $ 2 bus service will begin on Saturday, August 14, when the pre-season opening round begins.
“We worked with the RTC to launch the Raiders Express Route,” Naft said. “These are routes that start from all the different corners of the valley and they will be Game Day. That’s one of the reasons I’m optimistic about the Game Day experience.”
On Saturday, August 14, bus service starts at 2:30 pm and runs every 30 minutes, with the last bus departing at 5 pm for Allegiant Stadium.
For other home games starting at 1:05 pm or 1:25 pm, the Game Day Express service starts at 9:30 am, runs every 30 minutes, and the last bus departs at noon. ..
The five locations where the Game Day Express service operates are:
- Route 605– Summerlin Game Day Express: Red Rock Casino Resort Spa
- Route 606– Green Valley Game Day Express: Green Valley Ranch Resort Casino & Spa
- Route 607– Centennial Hills Game Day Express: Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino
- Route 609– East Side Games Day Express: Boulder Station Hotel & Casino
- Route 612– West Henderson Game Day Express: M Resort Spa Casino
Another big concern from Sunday was about wearing a mask.
Some fans were seen as maskless, and Naft says the stadium quote, “There is definitely a need to step up masking practices at the stadium.”
Mr Naft said he has already contacted the authorities on what they need to do to move forward.
