Kapolei, Hawaii (KHON2) — Aloun Farms was unable to host a pumpkin festival in 2020, but this time we’ve added a few things to the autumn festival.

New additions include drive-through pumpkin patches and farmers markets.

“We see a lot of zucchini in the farmers market, and we also have sweet potatoes,” said Michael Moefu, community outreach director at Aloun Farms.

Join the drive-through patch for $ 50 admission and choose one of the giant pumpkins. Participants drive to the patch, get out of the car and pick pumpkins from the vines! But they need to be careful with those vines, Moefuku said.

“I don’t want to touch the vine, but there are some thorns there,” he said. Get your pumpkin now. “

Those who get out of the car and patch at the market need to wear a mask and social distance. Aloun Farms also hosts a pumpkin decoration contest through social media where you can win a family stay at Embassy Suites in Waikiki.

“We have already received a lot of submissions, just tag @ AlounFarmsHawaii,” Moefu said.

Conclusion — They want to meet everyone in person.

“Since this year was a fruitful season, these giant pumpkins are plentiful, yes, families are coming out and opening up the field to harvest their own giant pumpkins.”

Michael Moefu, Aloun Farms Community Outreach Director

Anyone who pays an admission fee of $ 50 can join the patch and choose one of the giant pumpkins, after which all pumpkins will be $ 25 or $ 35, depending on size.

Those who choose to buy a giant pumpkin from the farmers market will pay either $ 30 or $ 40, but they can’t choose it from the vines. click here For more information on Aloun Farms.
