U.S. tech giant Amazon plans to invest € 2.5 billion ($ 3.04 billion) in a new data center in Aragon’s northern Spain region that will open in mid-2022, the company said on Monday. I mentioned in one.
Amazon Web Services, Amazon’s cloud computing services division, will invest that amount over a decade, the company said.
Investment includes capital investment, center construction, equipment imports, and operating expenses such as salaries for the 1,300 employees the company employs there.
Amazon Web Services has been based in Spain since 2012, building more infrastructure to host data in Spain for customers who need it.
