Memphis, Tennessee-Memphis Police are in need of your help to find four children who have been missing for a month and may be at risk.

According to police, Maria Thomas (10), Jamiya Thomas (8), Chance Beesley (3), and Keimiaya Beesley (1) were on October 5 at 2800 blocks on Nathan Avenue in Binghampton with their mother Jamisha. Last seen with Thomas. They were not supposed to be under her control.

The Tennessee Department of Research issued an amber alert to children Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Sheriff County Sheriff’s Office Warrant website, a warrant has been issued to Jamisha Thomas on the dangers of child abuse.

WREG spoke with Jamisha’s grandmother, Ida Thomas. She said she was surprised to see news reports that investigators believed the children could be at risk.

“If she was dangerous to her children, why didn’t she ever catch them,” said Thomas. “I didn’t think she was dangerous to the children. She loves the children.”

She said she didn’t know why the kids weren’t supposed to be with her, and when she was asked by the police, they wouldn’t tell her.

They constantly come to see if Jamisha is in her house, but she says her granddaughter doesn’t live with her.

Thomas said he saw Jamisha in a car passing by his house yesterday, but he didn’t stop.

She believes Jamisha may have taken the children on custody issues.

“They said they were going to take them away from her, but before they took them out of her arms, she took them and ran with them. She was with her children. I wanted to be with him, “said Thomas. “I hope she gives up on herself and tries to straighten this out, so anyone can help her or something.”

I asked the police why it would take a month for the children to be reported missing, but there was no reply.

They were probably last seen on the silver 2002 Ford Explorer with the LA tag 18077923.

If found, it is recommended that you contact the Memphis Police Department’s Sex Offenses Office (901) -636-3330 or TBI (1-800-TBI-FIND).
