The Season 6 premiere of Hypermarket ended with Amy’s return to California amid the COVID-19 pandemic with Jonah (Ben feldman) ready to go too. However, when Jonah and Amy (America Ferrera) kissed, there was a look on Amy’s face that signaled that things weren’t quite right. HollywoodLife spoken EXCLUSIVELY with EPs Gabe Miller and Jonathan green on how Amy’s and Jonah’s paths will diverge in Amy’s final episode since Amy’s departure but Jonah is do not.

The whole premiere revolved around the COVID-19 pandemic and how Cloud 9 adapted to it. The first featured numerous time jumps to show how the pandemic has evolved over the past year as critical Cloud 9 workers continue to work. Jonathan stressed that the show’s COVID scenario will continue.
“We kind of thought of this whole season as our COVID season of Hypermarket, so it’s going to continue, ”Jonathan said. “We’re already planning to at least continue, given that our show is set in a pandemic world, all season long, just because we’ve known for some time that stores aren’t going to change. their policies are reverting to the way things were before COVID. We will continue to have scenarios that touch on the different effects of it, but it is impossible for us to be at the moment when this really happens. But it’s definitely the backdrop for the whole season.
Gabe added, “I hope we’ve been able to find some comedy around people who treat it without downplaying or being oblivious to the scale and devastation. Our plan is for this to continue. “
Amy’s final episode airs on November 5 and will be the show’s 100th episode. Gabe said the “big event” of the episode will be “Amy’s last day at the store. There is a fun and festive side story about making a video to show Amy. He revealed that Dina will “deal with the fact that Amy is going to leave in a very Dina way” and that she “will try to determine who will replace Amy as Dina’s best friend in the store.” Hypermarket airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
