Anaheim (CBSLA) — Anaheim residents struggling to pay rent can apply for assistance from the city of Anaheim.
In the second phase of Anaheim’s emergency rental assistance, if the landlord agrees to allow the remaining 20%, he will provide up to 80% of the rent to his family. Tenants can apply for 25% of unpaid rent even if the landlord does not opt in.
“This will remove a heavy burden from the shoulders of many Anaheim families,” Mayor Harry Sidhu said in a statement. “We have already helped many, but we need more.”
There is no limit to the amount of rental assistance a household can receive, but applications from people and the unemployed, who make up 50% of the median income in the area, are prioritized.
The application window for rental support this time is from March 1st to March 31st. Click here for details and application. Anaheim.net/rentassistance.. Residents in need of additional assistance can call the city hotline at (714) 765-4300 extension. 4890.
