Andhra Pradesh [India]June 24 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Prime Minister Jagan Mohan Lady assisted NDA presidential candidate Draupadimrum on Thursday.
According to an official state government statement, CM Jagan believes it has always focused on representing the SC, ST, BC, and minority communities.
Over the last three years, Jagan has placed great importance on the uplifting of these communities, ensuring that they make up the majority of 70% and are well represented by the Cabinet.
However, the CM will not be able to attend the submission of the nomination by Draupadi Murmu due to the previously scheduled Cabinet meeting. Instead, Rajya Sabha members and party parliamentary leaders Vijaysai Reddy and Lok Sabha members Midhun Reddy will be present.
Earlier that day, Murum arrived in Delhi to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Interior Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nada. The presidential election will take place on July 18.
Droupadi Murmu will submit her nomination documents on Friday.
She is the first presidential candidate from the state of Orissa, a major political party or alliance. She continued to break through barriers and was the first female governor of Jharkhand. She was Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021.
Droupadi Murmu came from a poor tribal family in the village of Mayurbhanj in the rear district of Orissa and completed her study despite difficult circumstances. She taught at the Shriaurobind Integrated Education Center in Lyrampur.
She began her political career as Vice President of Rairangpur NAC. Droupadi Murmu was a member of Rairangpur’s Odisha Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2004. As Minister, she held a portfolio of transportation and commerce, livestock and fisheries. She again served as MLA in the Odisha Parliament from 2004 to 2009.
In 2007, the Odisha Parliament awarded the highest MLA the “Nilakantha Award”. She was a junior assistant in the irrigation and electricity sector from 1979 to 1983. She has held several organizational positions at the BJP, and in 1997 she was Vice President of ST Morcha in the state.
Droupadi Murmu was a national executive member of BJP’s ST Morcha from 2013 to 2015 and was BJP District Director of Mayurbhanj (West) in 2010 and 2013. From 2006 to 2009 she was the head of BJP’s ST Morcha at Odisha. She was a member of the national executive of BJPST Morcha from 2002 to 2009.
Voting for the next President of India will begin on July 18th and the count will take place on July 21st. (ANI)
