Angela Bassett And Courtney B. VanceBassett Vance Productions is teaming up. MTV Entertainment Studios With Nathan Alan Davis, writer of a limited series on the 1921 Tulsa race massacre, variety I learned exclusively.

The news in this series arrived shortly before the 100th anniversary of the massacre, which killed hundreds of blacks and destroyed entire homes and businesses. The series tells the story of Tulsa’s Greenwood district, known as “Black Wall Street,” the wealthiest black community in the United States at the time. This series is the first project by Basett Vance Productions as part of a contract signed with MTV Entertainment Studios in 2020.

Basset and Vance will be executive producers of the series, and Dwayne Johnson-Cochrane and Linette Ramirez will be executive producers for Basset Vance Productions. The show shows Davis’ first production of the series, but has previously written for shows such as “American Soul” and “Sorry for Your Loss.” He said “Jerusalem.” He is best known for his award-winning playwright career, writing plays such as “Nat Turner”, “Dontrell Kissing the Sea”, and “Wind and Breeze”.
