AP source: Ariza on move again as OKC, Dallas, Detroit deal – Washington, District of Columbia

Washington, District of Columbia 2020-11-21 03:03:39 –

Trevor Ariza will be traveling with us from Detroit to Oklahoma City on our third trip this week …

Trevor Ariza will be joining Oklahoma City from Detroit in three teams with Justin Jackson of Dallas on his third move this week.

The deal also sent the Mavericks to Delon Wright to James Johnson’s Pistons, a person familiar with the details said earlier Saturday.

Aliza was sent from Portland to Houston two days before the draft and to Pistons on Wednesday draft night. The 35-year-old is already playing in 10 teams.

The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal was not announced. It was first reported by the New York Times.

The Mavericks added Johnson to give toughness around the young stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Dallas was defensive on the night of the draft, taking Josh Green in Arizona in the first round and replacing it with Josh Richardson in Philadelphia.

Point guards Trey Burke and the Mavericks have signed a $ 10 million three-year deal for free agents to return after a powerful show at the Florida NBA Bubble. With the advent of Burke as one of Doncic’s backups, lights have become more depleted. Dallas acquired Wright from Memphis during the 2019 off-season.

Jackson came to Dallas for a deal before the February 2019 deadline. His production fell during the pandemic-changing season, after a strong finish to the previous season after the deal.

In addition to Aliza and Jackson, Oklahoma City will receive draft compensation in the transaction.

Wright is the only player in the industry who has no contracts to expire. Wright has two years left on the three-year contract that was part of the sign-and-trade that sent him from Memphis to Dallas.

Johnson’s expired contract was another attraction for the Mavericks. The Mavericks don’t have the space for a salary cap to make a big move with free agents this year, but they should be in place for next summer.
