APD releases results of recent ShotSpotter operation – Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE)-The Albuquerque Police Department announced on Sunday that their gun violence reduction unit (GVRU) was operating under the ministry’s new ShotSpotter system.

According to officials, GVRU detectives worked with police officers on the Southeastern Response Team on November 19 to deal with the incident while waiting for ShotSpotter to activate.

The result of the operation is as follows:

  • Arrest of two felony
  • 6 service calls
  • 3 traffic stops
  • 4 citations
  • Calling four suspicious activities
  • 3 warrants cleared
  • Two vehicles tow
  • One gun was confiscated
  • One stolen car recovered
  • 4 ShotSpotter responses
  • One shooting survey
  • One possible criminal identified from ShotSpotter activation
