Atlanta, Georgia 2021-08-04 20:30:00 –

Atlanta (CBS46) —The Atlanta Police Department has completed a survey of a recent video posted on Twitter showing a sergeant of the Atlanta Police Department kicking a woman’s head.

APD states that Chief Frodney Bryant has reviewed the video and determined that the sergeant’s actions “look unacceptable.” The statement further states that the ministry is also concerned about “a clear lack of response from another police officer present during the incident.”

APD has released Sergeant Mark Theodor and Sergeant Bridget from his mission and assigned Sergeant. Theodule on unpaid suspension before dismissing him on Monday, August 2nd.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Department of Professional Standards conducted a swift investigation into the actions of all police officers on the scene. APD has issued the following statement regarding the incident:

“The behavior of the people in the video seems to deviate from our standards and training, but it is important that the Expert Standards Office conduct a thorough investigation to identify the facts surrounding the case. Bryant will monitor this rapid progress. We will investigate and review the findings to determine the appropriate course of action. “

Sgt. Theodule has ended due to behavior that violates departmental policy and that is outside the scope of APD standards and training.

Citizen officers were found not to violate APD’s obligation to intervene policy and subsequently returned to full obligation. She reportedly caught the attention of the supervisor shortly after the incident occurred.
