Florence, Arizona (AP) — Prisoners in Arizona will be executed in the state for the first time in eight years after the US Supreme Court dismissed the appeal shortly before the death sentence for lethal injection.

The court ruled one hour before Clarence Dixon’s execution scheduled for Wednesday to kill a college student in 1978. Deana Bowdoin, a college student.
