Tucson, Arizona 2021-09-05 21:16:53 –

Sahuarita, Arizona (KGUN) — Police said the suspect was arrested on a chase along Pimama Inlord on Saturday evening.

According to the SPD, Safalita police officers were reported stolen by TJ Maxx on the Nogales Highway at around 9:05 pm. The suspect’s car was described as an “old white truck,” and witnesses reported part of the license plate.

Police said after a while, police officers saw a vehicle similar to the one described before heading north on the I-19. When the vehicle left the I-19 and turned west on Pimama Inn Road, police officers tried to stop the traffic. However, the vehicle did not surrender and continued west on Pimama Inn Road.

According to police, the vehicle was traveling about 2 miles at speeds in the range of 10-70 mph. While the vehicle was running, the occupants were throwing items out of the vehicle’s windows. Some of the items thrown, along with drug-related tools, were associated with pre-tracking theft.

The vehicle approached the mining area, where it attempted a U-turn. According to police, police officers tried to stop behind the vehicle, but due to the large amount of dirt in the area, they eventually collided backwards.

According to police, a vehicle occupant left and walked into the desert area, where a police officer chased the occupant, and the suspect’s vehicle headed east on Pimama In Road. A policeman chasing on foot caught a suspect who had escaped on foot.

According to the SPD, additional corresponding police officers and helicopters from the Pima County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area to assist. Later, the suspect’s vehicle was found, but no other crew members were found.

Police said after searching the vehicle, about $ 1,500 worth of suspected theft assets from various companies, small amounts of fentanyl, and methamphetamine were found.

The suspect in captivity is a 40-year-old man from Tucson.

He was arrested for felony organized retail theft, drug possession, robbery tools, and unpaid warrants. One of them was a robbery.

He was booked at Pima County Prison.

The case is still under investigation.
