The Arts of the Pamlico will partner with several local businesses over the next few months to provide live performances to the people of Beaufort County.

“We support performers who offer summer outdoor concerts and autumn indoor concerts throughout the county as a way to increase access to art,” said Debra Torrence, director of Arts at Pamlico. ..

The first of these events, Music on the Deck, will have two different performances that will be open to the public for free.

“Music on the Deck is a collaboration with Elizabeth Boyd on Bath’s quarter deck. AOP pays performers,” Torrence said.

The music for the first performance on the deck will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Saturday, June 19th, featuring music from Dave Raducha. The second performance will be on July 10th from 5pm to 7pm with the Nanette Garrett Duo. Both performances will take place on the upper deck of the quarter deck. You can buy food and drink during the performance from the quarterdeck.

AOP is also sponsoring Macha Music in partnership with the Belhaven Chamber of Commerce. These performances are held once a month until September, with Ruth Wyant and Tribe of One on June 26th, Wilwood String Band on July 24th, Pamela and JB on August 28th, and September 18th. Squire Red and Blues Band will appear in. .. All four performances will take place from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Bell Haventown Dock in Windsgut. All Macha Music performances are open to the public for free.

In addition to these two concert series, AOP is also affiliated with the Beaufort County Traditional Music Association. This group plays along the waterfront in the Washington Harbor area during the summer. If the weather conditions worsen, the group will move indoors and play at the Turnage Theater.

The final summer performance will be part of Bath Fest, an event co-sponsored by AOP. The Pitt Community College Orchestra will perform on September 18th on the lawn of the historic Bonner House in Bath.
