On Monday, the council unanimously passed an ordinance requiring all elected officials and employees, full-time, part-time, and contract workers in the city of Atlanta to “train LGBTQ cultural humility.” I voted in.

Online training is managed by the city’s human resources department and is required annually.

Teach employees about the history of the LGBTQ community, the definition of identity, and an understanding of the differences between different cultures.

“They will learn a lot of terms because there is a part about terms that were accepted five or ten years ago, but are now unacceptable,” Brown told CBS46.

City council member Matt Westmoreland was a co-sponsor of the ordinance.

“This law, sponsored by my colleague Carla Smith, is welcomed or accepted by those working with the city government who understand that they are certainly in the city government. I hope it’s a sign that I don’t feel like I’m doing it, and we’re taking steps like this to make it more concrete in the rest of the world, “said Westmoreland. Says.

The training will be conducted by employees of the ATL Cloud Learn Portal doe City and will include content similar to what the LGBTQ Training Police have already received.
