Atlanta (CBS46) — Atlanta Gaslight releases air and natural gas this morning in a housing complex around arrival, where a gas leak explosion was suspected.
DeKalb County Fire Marshal has instructed AGL to release gas as part of an investigation into the September 12 explosion.
Construction will not restore service to the apartment.
Residents of the Danwoody complex were forced to leave their homes five days after the explosion.
They are told they need to leave by October 31st and it is unclear if they will be allowed to return.
Apartment dwellers say they have complained to management several times over the past few months about the smell of gas.
There is concern that the apartment complex may have been demolished and the victim’s lawyer may be trying to prevent the planned demolition.
Now: Lawyers are hiring a judge to prevent the demolition of Danwoody’s apartment, which was the center of the gas explosion last week.More at noon @ cbs46 #ArriveApartments pic.twitter.com/yxY0JJD43M
