Atlanta (CBS46) — As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to proliferate throughout the state and country, all students and staff at Atlanta Public Schools need to be masked during the next academic year.
In a message sent to APS families on Thursday, the school district states that all schools and buildings, and all after-school indoor activities, clubs, and programs will require masks during school days.
Masks are required not only for all school buses, but also for round trips to locker rooms, weight rooms, sporting events, meetings and other related indoor environments.
Masks are optional for outdoor activities such as breaks, physical education, outdoor activities, clubs and programs, and after-school outdoor activities.
You don’t need a mask while eating, but you do need physical distance. Students and staff do not need to wear masks for outdoor athletics such as soccer, baseball, cross-country, and athletics.
The APS school year begins on August 5th.
