A man in Aurora was sentenced to life imprisonment on Thursday for being shot dead in a parking lot in a housing complex.
Cameron Scott Costello, 26, was sentenced to death by 33-year-old Brandon Brabson, according to the Arapahoe District Attorney’s Office.
Brabson is the residence of Sable Cove on June 23, 2020, 912S. I was shot in the back of my head outside the Dearborn Way. On July 28, a jury admitted that Costello was found guilty of a single murder at Brabson’s death.
“The man with the gun took the problem with his own hands and executed his three fathers,” he said.
District Attorney John Kellner, News Release. “This sentence is worthy of a cold-blooded murder. There is no statement to bring Mr. Brabson back to his family, but perhaps they can find some healing by putting this stage behind them.”
Brabson was in the apartment that night trying to talk to his ex-girlfriend.
There was a restraint order against him. The ex-girlfriend was worried that Brabson was trying to contact her and, according to the release and arrest affidavit of the case, sought help from friends and neighbors to urge Brabson to leave.

It was seen in a surveillance video with Brabson shortly before shooting. At that time, no one was with the two men. Investigators used clips from video surveillance cameras in the complex as part of the case.
“He had a gun that killed Brabson,” Release said when Aurora police arrested Costello. The prosecution said the motive for the shooting remained unknown. Judge Elizabeth Weishaupur of the District Court for Arapahoe County ruled in the proceedings.
