Canberra, Australia (AP) — Far-right British commentator Katie Hopkins was deported from Australia after boasting on social media that she planned to violate quarantine rules.

Hopkins traveled to Australia to appear on a reality television show and was subject to a mandatory 14-day hotel quarantine in Sydney before filming began.

by Associated PressHopkins left Australia by plane from Sydney on Monday.

Hopkins angered her anti-Islamic and anti-immigrant comments. She even described the blockade of the pandemic as “the biggest hoax in human history,” AP reported.

President Donald Trump at the time often retweeted her before being permanently banned by Twitter in June 2020 for violating the platform’s hatred policy.

Hopkins said in a deleted Instagram video that he intends to scare hotel staff who are eating naked without masks, according to AP.

Interior Minister Karen Andrews said Hopkins would be deported after boasting on Instagram her intention to ignore quarantine rules.

The network and production company behind “Big Brother VIP” said her contract to appear in the program was cancelled.

Australia’s two largest cities, Sydney and Melbourne, have been blocked to contain the outbreak of the coronavirus caused by the more contagious delta mutation.
