Authorities are looking for prisoners who left Omaha’s Community Correction Center on Thursday.
According to the Nebraska Department of Corrections, 21-year-old Kabir Haywood left the facility after attending a parole hearing on Thursday morning. Authorities have discovered an electronic surveillance device worn by Haywood near a hotel in Carter Lake, Iowa.
Haywood weighs 6 feet 2,385 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Anyone who knows his whereabouts will be asked to contact the local government or the Nebraska Patrol.
Haywood finished his sentence on December 16, 2019. He has been with Douglas County for three to five years on charges such as firing guns in occupied homes / cars and felony drug charges, including marijuana. His interim release date is October 30, 2021.
CCC-Omaha is one of the two least restricted community custody prisons in the state. Prisoners are allowed to participate in work, school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
