Elizabeth City (AP) — An unarmed black man who was fatally shot in April by a deputy sheriff in North Carolina died of a “head-penetrating gunshot wound,” according to official autopsy results released Thursday.
Andrew Brown Jr. was also shot on his right arm, suffering lacerations and other wounds on his right thigh, right arm and upper back. He had low levels of methamphetamine in the bloodstream. However, it was a murder, “probably not affecting the cause or method of Mr Brown’s death,” the report said.
