Baxter International is in talks to acquire medical device maker Hillrom Holdings.
Negotiations are in the early stages and some said there was no guarantee that an agreement would be reached. Hillrom has a market value of about $ 8 billion, so if there is one, it’s pretty important.
Hillrom has already refused to bid $ 144 per share from Baxter, some said.
Baxter has a market value of approximately $ 41 billion.
Founded in 1915, Chicago-based Hill-Rom manufactures medical devices such as hospital beds and patient monitoring equipment.
