Bay Village, Ohio (WJW) – Bay Village The city school district erroneously released confidential records for the entire advanced class last week.

According to a letter sent to parents, Bay High School employees intended to email seniors and their parents a copy of their transcripts.

Instead, the email sent to the family contained an incomplete transcript of all advanced classes.

These transcripts included the student’s name, address, phone number, grades, permanent student ID number, state test score, and college preparatory test score.

Social security numbers, discipline information, special education plans, and financial, medical, and insurance information were not included in the email.

The school district states that it is working with parents and students to reset their Google Mail passwords and ensure that their lunch accounts are secure.

Students were told that disclosing information further violated the Student Code of Conduct.

In a statement, the district said:

“As an educational institution, the Bay Village City School District has legal and ethical laws.
Responsibility to protect the privacy and security of educational data, including individuals
information. We take this responsibility very seriously and do everything we can.
Alleviate this situation and prevent it from happening again.

“We sincerely apologize for this unfortunate mistake. Protecting our students is our utmost.
Priority. “
