Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE) – Bernarillo County Open Space Holds a series of workshops in July and August. Park resource specialist Dustin Chavez-Davis elaborated on what people can expect at future workshops.

On July 17, Magical Storytelling Adventure shares the dynamic story of an elf dropping children down the Rio Grande. The interactive outdoor storytelling setting with dolls promises to be a unique experience for all ages.

On July 24th, Growing a Backyard Refuge will share the process of assessing space to participate in the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program. It features a Bachechi open space as a healthy soil and water management.

On August 14, the Instruments of the World, home to the Maxwell Anthropology Museum, will showcase musical instruments from around the world. Participants will experience folk music to shake, rattle, and tap a collection of musical instruments.

August 28, Rio Grande: The Changing River explores the dynamic rivers that water the lives of the region. This event explores rivers of the past, shows changes over time, and looks to the future of managing rivers.

All events run from 9am to 10:30 am. The July 17, August 14, and August 28 events will take place at the Bachechi Environmental Education Building, 9521 northwest of Rio Grande Boulevard, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
