And when Falling Rock Tap House announced last month that it would close the door at LoDo’s 1919 Blake St. 24 years later, Corleons weren’t ready to say goodbye.
“I love the industry and it’s heartbreaking to see these long-standing businesses shut down,” Corleons said. “And I understand how difficult it is to make and how emotional people get when they go, so I’m passionate about saving and updating them. . “
According to real estate records, on Wednesday, Corleons purchased a 5,184-square-foot building from Falling Rock from Blake Street Park LLC for a $ 2.5 million cash transaction. Within a few weeks he will launch a similar concept called The Cabin Tap House, offering a rich menu of bar food and beer.
Falling Lock opened one block below Coors Field in 1997, but announced that it would be completely closed in June. Owner Chris Black said the media outlet business has declined by 30% over the past year.
Next to the Taphouse, Corleons owns a beta event center at Blake St in 1909. I also bought it when I was planning to close it in 2019. Corleons said it offered to buy Falling Rock last year after receiving a noise complaint from Black. business.
It evolved into Corleons talking to H. Alan Dill and Ralph Riggs, who manage Blake Street Park LLC, about buying the building itself instead.
Dill is a managing partner and lawyer at Dill Dill Carr Stonbraker & Hutchings LLP, and Riggs is a local investor. Records show that the two bought real estate in 1995 for $ 215,000.
“We didn’t really want to sell it, but the offer was satisfying and couldn’t be overlooked,” Dill said.
“Falling Rock was our first and only tenant when we bought the property 20 years ago. This was the owner’s dream,” he added. “The bar will be overlooked by many, but we tried on our behalf. We always tried to make the rent reasonable. That is, we saw someone who lasted 24 years in the stadium area. is there?”
Falling Lock was a bit off the normal wheelhouse of Coreons, but he said, “I’m always looking for new ways to grow and grow my business,” and I’m excited about the challenge.
Cabin Tap House serves local beer, but Coreons said he might consider hiring a team to brew on-site.

For the 1962 Beta and El Chapultepec, just one block from Falling Rock on Market Street, Corleons will update the interior design and reopen in about a month under the name Cantina Cafe, but the same. Old school jazz creates an atmosphere. I had it for years.
