This is Sierra’s navigation system. Yes, it’s a Google map. This means it’s smarter than a regular navigation system and comes with a much better voice-initiated search feature than regular native navigation. The problem is when no cell data is available. This happens quite normally in the Pacific Northwest, especially where people drive trucks. To enter an address without cell data, you need the foresight to pre-load the map data. That may not be a big deal, but it has nothing to do with a typical native navigation system.

Better than Ford’s “Manstep” and Ram’s bizarre multifunctional split tailgate (I think I’ve only seen it once in the wild). It makes a big difference when you push or pull things into or out of bed, or when you need to get up and down the bed.

The Sierra Denali Ultimate also had an available Kicker sound system embedded within the step. Sadly, I didn’t have the opportunity to test it.
