John Hickling, Cindia Harvey, Andrew Kenny. These are the three winners of the British Fashion Council (BFC) Changemakers Award in Partnership with Swarovski, selected from more than 500 participants.
Hickling, founder of The Glass Onion People, a vintage remade clothing provider, won the award for the environment category, international hair stylist Harvey won the People category, and thread maker The London Embroidery Studio. The owner, Kenny, won the Community & Craftsmanship. section. Each will receive a prize of £ 7,500.
Launched earlier this year, this initiative discovers and celebrates “the shadow star of the fashion industry to strive for positive change, make outstanding contributions and inspire others’ journeys.” The purpose is that.
The award was open to everyone working in the fashion industry, “celebrating and promoting inclusiveness, personal achievements and innovative thinking.” Applicants were nominated by colleagues, colleagues, employers and businesses for their outstanding achievements in one of the three pillars of BFC’s Institute for Positive Fashion.
Caroline Rush, BFC’s CEO, said:
“Our hope is to promote their great work and enable them to continue to fulfill their desire for the industry.”
Winners will be awarded their respective awards at the exclusive reception of London Fashion Week on September 21st.
