Cincinnati — Bibi is monitoring childbirth!
The Cincinnati Zoo On Friday, the hippo fetus said it was larger on the last ultrasonography than when Fiona was born. Of course, Fiona arrived six weeks early, but zoo staff expect Bibi to expire in early August.
“Our volunteer observer team is starting birth monitoring today,” the zoo tweeted. “They are watching Vivi carefully from 5 pm to 7 am via the video stream.”
Bibi weighs over 3,000 pounds, but requires the same ultrasound scans that a human mother needs.Veterinarian Julie Burns Taken WCPO through the process in about 8 weeks to go to Bibi’s pregnancy..
The care team trained Mamakaba to lean on the railing while eating romaine lettuce. Burns plunges with an ultrasonic wand.
“That’s amazing,” Burns said. “Not many people can say that the hippo has been sonicated.”
Hippo, a popular country in the country, has struggled from an early age, so the zoo is doing everything it can to make Bibi’s baby healthy and happy. When the calf arrived, Burns said he would finally take a breath.
“And, well, we’re all going to celebrate after that, and I think so in other parts of Cincinnati,” Burns said.
