Biden admin stepping up community grants from COVID bill – Colorado Springs, Colorado

Colorado Springs, Colorado 2021-07-22 05:03:38 –

President Joe Biden’s administration says it makes $ 3 billion in economic development grants available to the community. This is a 10-fold increase over the programs paid by this year’s COVID-19 Relief Bill.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told The Associated Press that her agency would begin accepting applications for competitive grants. Authorities hope that this will create hundreds of thousands of jobs.

The goal is to help struggling cities and towns make long-term investments to drive development over the years to come.

Grants cover support for local infrastructure, vocational training programs, and the development of new industries.
