When the United States surpassed 500,000 coronavirus-related deaths on Monday, President Joe Biden instructed him to half-mast the US flag until Friday sunset.

Mortality from coronavirus has increased in recent months. Half of the 500,000 deaths have occurred in the last three months.

From the White House, Biden addressed the country on Monday.

“As a nation, we cannot accept such a cruel fate. We have been fighting this pandemic for a long time. We must resist being paralyzed by sadness. I We have to take care of each life in statistics, blur, or news. We have to do so to honor the dead, but we have to take care of the creatures they left behind, and equally important. Hmm.

Biden then silently prayed outside the White House with his wife Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and husband Doug Emhoff.

At the beginning of Monday, the National Cathedral rang the bells of 500 churches. This is one in 1,000 Americans who have died of the coronavirus since the beginning of last year.

At the beginning of his presidency, Biden called on Americans to wear masks and social distance for the first 100 days of his administration. Five weeks after his inauguration, the number of cases dropped sharply.

As of Monday, 44 million Americans, or 13% of the US population, have been vaccinated with the coronavirus vaccine at least once.
