After the Black Lives Matter protests exploded around the world, Ghana’s tourism minister told African Americans “you don’t have to stay where you don’t want” and told African Americans to go to her country. I advised you to move. The call follows a 2019 campaign that encouraged the descendants of the African diaspora to return to a country where their ancestors were enslaved four centuries ago.
