Tulsa, Oklahoma 2021-09-15 11:47:49 –

Tulsa, Oklahoma — Originally from Oklahoma, Blake Shelton aims to identify special community members at each stop on the Friends and Heroes 2021 Tour. Shelton is celebrating Tulsa police officer Aurash Zarkeshan before going on stage at the BOK Center next week.

Shelton, with the help of the BOK Center, chose the Zarkeshan officer based on his courage and positive outlook on his recovery journey. The choice is to recognize his courage and commitment and respect the memory of his partner Sgt. Johnson.

GT Bynum, Mayor of Tulsa, said of recognition:

“I don’t think there will be a better person than Tulsa’s own Zarkeshan officer. He overcame many of the difficulties he faced on his way to recovery, never gave up, and was tired of serving the citizens of Tulsa as a police officer. After that fateful night, I have never seen the community provide so much support and care to Tulsa police officers. Serving Tulsa officers and Tulsa daily. I would like to thank Blake Shelton for recognizing the power and honor of many officers. “

Zarkeshan will receive a prize pack containing front row tickets for Blake Shelton’s Friends and Heroes 2021 Tour Day at the BOK Center. The Bank of Oklahoma is also the charity of his choice TPD Foundation..

Leslie Paris, Director of Community Engagement at Oklahoma Bank, said: “And while it cannot be compared to what Zarkeshan officers sacrificed for our community, we are honored to support the TPD Foundation on his behalf.”
