Bolts’ prospect Finley looks to bounce back from shoulder injury – Tampa, Florida

Jack Finley stands out in the Tampa Bay Lightning outlook. It’s not just because he physically rises above everyone at 6 “6.

“Jack is a great player,” said Finley’s teammate Declan McDonnell. “As you know, his size, he competes every night. He’s really smart in the pack. He wants to get better. I hope he’ll be with Lightning in the next few years. You can see.”

Just a year ago, 19-year-old Finley was 57th overall in Bolt’s second round draft topic. This week, Finley is working with Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Nashville Predators to compete with Lightning at the annual NHL Prospect Showcase.

“This is a big camp for me because it’s the first real camp I got with all the young players,” Finley said. “I just want to show everyone why it was a good choice to draft.”

However, he played only two games last season with minor league affiliate Syracuse Crunch. He spent most of the season on ice with a junior-level club, Spokane Chiefs, to recover from a shoulder injury. Now that he’s healthy, he’s ready to put off last year’s season.

Stacy Roast, Lightning’s Director of Player Development, said:

“”I was more hesitant at the start of the camp, “Finley said. “I didn’t feel anything today. I believe my shoulders were healed. I was swinging a little today.”

Lightning prospects finished the showcase with a 3-0 record. The future of Bolt and Finley in the Big League is bright.

“He will be a monster,” Roast added. “I’m looking forward to his big year. Now we’ll see what he’s doing in the mini camp.”

Lightning will start the training camp on Thursday.
