Another victim, 31 years old, is in a stable condition. “Multiple people” were detained
KOIN, Oregon — A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting in Salem on Saturday afternoon, another was injured, and “multiple people” were detained by agents.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting took place shortly after 1 pm at Tide Court NE near Surfwood Drive NE in the unincorporated area of Salem. 911 callers reported that two people were shot dead and the car fled the area.
The 10-year-old was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Another victim, a 31-year-old man, is said to be in stable condition.
Marion County lawmakers and law enforcement agencies from Kaiser, Salem, Stayton, and Oregon police rushed to the scene. Vehicles reportedly fled the scene were found and authorities said several people had been detained.
The Marion County DA office also arrived at the scene with the crew of Marion County Fire District 1 and the Willamette Valley Communication Center.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Currently, there is no other information.
