Boy Scouts to place 100,000 flags to honor Middle TN veterans – Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) – Thousands of volunteers will attend the Central Tennessee Scout Council this Saturday at an event honoring veterans in central Tennessee prior to Memorial Day.

More than 1,500 volunteers are expected to attend Madison’s Nashville National Cemetery and place as many as 37,000 US flags in the cemeteries of those who have sacrificed their lives for the country. Events organized by the Boy Scouts of America are a way for Tennessians to show their appreciation for the fallen people.

“This is a prestigious event that we, as the Middle Tennessee Council, are proud to support in some way,” said Scout Executive Larry Brown. People who are active and have served our country very well. ”

A total of 100,000 flags will be placed in three graveyards to commemorate veterans in central Tennessee. Scouts place the US flag on the Stones River National Cemetery in Murfreesboro and the Middle Tennessee Veterans’ Cemetery in West Nashville.All events are scheduled to start at 8am

Larry Brown says that in addition to the three main graveyards, scouts and families will also visit more than 30 small graveyards and flag them.
