Milwaukee (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers right-handed Corbin Burnes will launch Game 1 of the NL Division Series with the Atlanta Braves on Friday.
Brewers announced on Tuesday that Burns (11-5, 2.43 ERA) will start the opening game and right-handed Brandon Woodruff (9-10, 2.56) will start Game 2 on Saturday. The Braves will face right-handed Charlie Morton (14-6, 3.34) in Game 1 and left-handed Max Fried (14-7, 3.04 ERA) in Game 2.
Burns led the NL in this season’s ERA, scoring 234 strikeouts and only 34 walks in 167 innings.
On his only start with Braves this season, Burns gave up five runs and nine hits in four innings. The Brewers still won Game 9-5 on July 30th. Morton made one start against Brewers, 0-1 at 3.00 ERA.
