BRPD: Alleged road rage led to fatal shooting at Perkins Road B-Quik; 19-year-old arrested | Crime/Police – New Orleans, Louisiana

Police said the alleged road assault on the Baton Rouge interstate highway was shot at a Baton Rouge gas station on Monday night.

According to Baton Rouge police, 19-year-old Jamal Jackson shot dead Joseph Tatney, 40, at B-Quick, 4100 blocks on Perkins Road, around 7 pm on Monday.

At the time of firing, police officers were already in the parking lot of the gas station. They immediately detained Jackson in Baton Rouge.

According to Baton Rouge police, one person was killed in a shooting near a car wash and gas station on Perkins Road on Monday night.

The two men had previously experienced “road runaways” and “some sort of quarrel” on interstate highways, BRPD spokesman Sergeant said. L’Jean McKneely Jr. said in a 1 am press release:

Plaquemine’s Tatney was shot multiple times and died on the spot.

Jackson was imprisoned in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for second-class murder and illegal use of weapons.
