Bruno Henke, founder of Germantown-based Construction Supply & Reaction, died last week. He was 83 years old.
After starting his career in the construction industry in 1960, Henke founded CSE in 1980. He has made the business a prominent contractor for metal wall panel systems and structural steel. Under his supervision, the company undertook many prominent projects in the Milwaukee area, including Miller Park and Frodart Hospital.
Henke was a member and executive of the National Milwaukee Association of Sheet Metal and Air Conditioners in the construction industry in the Milwaukee region. In 2010, the Faculty of Engineering at Marquette University recognized Henke as an excellent graduate of the year, half a century after Henke graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
After retiring in 2003, Henke and his wife Mona traveled extensively. In 2014, he and his wife received his blessing with Pope Francis and an audience on a pilgrimage to Rome with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
