Bulldogs Finish Fifth at CIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship – The Baltimore Times Online Newspaper – Baltimore, Maryland

Bowie, Maryland – Bowie State University’s Men’s Athletics Corps ended the season from the BSU Athletics Stadium on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the 2022 Central Inter-University Athletics Association (CIAA) Outdoor Athletics Stadium.

The bulldog finished in 5th place out of 6 teams and scored 69 points. Virginia topped the table with 190 points, and Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone also finished the three finishes with 116 and 99 points, respectively.

Notable highlights

• Kenny Amaya, Bladensburg, Maryland, grabbed the discus silver with a 45.65 meter pitch.
• Eric Toh Mastery (Richmond, VA) brought back the silver medal at 5000 meters with a finish time of 16: 33.44.
• Shane Massey (Lewis, Delaware) finished fourth in the 800-meter race with a time of 1: 59.26.
• Alonzo Fluellen (Phoenix City, Maryland) finished 6th overall with a discus (41.89m). He was the fifth tab in the javelin throw with a mark of 38.23m.
• Lates McLaughlin (Waldorf, Maryland) finished sixth overall in the triple jump (12.70m).
• The Bulldogs 4x400m relay team finished fourth with a time of 3: 28.80.
