Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee 2022-06-25 20:13:01 –

Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF) —Severy sandbar cities and counties have implemented burn bans due to hot and dry weather.

Burning is prohibited in Brentwood, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, Lebanon, Murfreesboro, Ravelgne, Tullahoma and the White House until further notice.

Burn bans are valid in Robertson County until 7 am Monday and in Robertson County until further notice.

These bans mean that no burning permit will be issued and people are not allowed to burn brushes or leaves or start a campfire outdoors.

“We wanted it to rain to improve the situation, but with a series of grass fires, no one could be injured or lose property.” La Vergne Fire Marshal Curtis Brinkley said. “We will continuously monitor the weather, cross our fingers and hopefully get rainfall that reduces the chances of a fire spreading.”

The use of fireworks is not currently prohibited in permitted cities, but is subject to change.
