San Diego, California (KGTV) — Clay Phillips loves playing golf, so he decided to combine his passion with philanthropy.
His plan was to play golf for 50 days on 50 different courses in 50 different states. His adventure began in August when he picked it up in Hawaii.
My next destination was playing golf in Alaska before heading south to the Pacific Northwest. From there, it left all over the United States in all directions. His mission was completed after returning to Southern California and playing a round at Singing Hills Golf Resort.
“Looking back, it’s really just a blur. I shoot in the motel corridor and pitching wedges over and over again,” said Phillips.
Phillips said the trip was fulfilling, but everything was fun and not a game.
“The easy part was that my plan worked pretty well. The hard part was, first and foremost, being away from home,” he said.
During his golf adventure, Phillips said he covered more than 10,000 miles.
During the journey, Philips increased funding and awareness to provide access to clean drinking water around the world. He states that if all the donations and pledges he received were fulfilled, he would raise over $ 47,000 for two charities, Project Blue and Water 1st International.
“Millions of people are affected by what we take for granted. Easy access to clean water. People waste a lot of time. The economy is not what they can do. It’s not what they can do. It looks like a great fruit. Cause. “
After playing golf in 50 states for 50 consecutive days, Phillips doesn’t know when to hit another putt.
“My wife says it will be about three days,” he said. “I say about three years, so somewhere between those two.”
