CAC 40 rises ahead of central bank meetings

French stocks rose on Tuesday as investors watched corporate profits and waited for numerous central bank meetings in Europe, Japan and Canada for clues to the direction.

The benchmark CAC 40 index rose 52 points (0.8%) to 6.765 after dropping 0.3% in the previous session.

The Orange Group’s share price fell 3%. Carriers reported a 0.4% decline in third-quarter revenue, primarily due to the low level of fiber network cofinancing received in France.

Aerospace company Thales has risen by more than 1% after reaffirming its full-year financial forecast.

Faurecia fell about 1%. Auto parts makers reported that third-quarter sales fell by more than 10% from a year ago, as market conditions were affected by adverse conditions in the supply chain, primarily semiconductors.
